I have been a little erratic with postings seeing as my thoughts and recovering has me else where. Ever since the end of November it has been a whirlwind of events. Formula 1 was in mid November and I worked more than my usual load. By the time five days was over I was exhausted and took a few days to recoup and get back into the swing of things. By the time I returned to work the following Friday I had an unfortunate accident at work. As I was coming off of main stage I pulled the curtains to the entrance back and stepped down onto the step. The heel of my other foot caught on the hem of the satin curtains and I went tumbling down four stairs hitting the stairs with my leg, knee, and opposite ankle and my elbows and face on the floor. I luckily was able to finish out the rest of my night but by the time I was done my ankle was pretty sore and swollen, my elbow had a nasty rug burn that was bleeding, my left cheek bone was swollen, my left knee was swelling more, and I had a slight concussion. Battered and bruised I went home with an ice pack and stayed on the couch for the next three days icing the swelling. By Tuesday of that following week I had shopping for Thanksgiving to do and Wednesday found me on my feet from about noon to 1:30 a.m. I haven’t been able to slow down since finding errands that were put off having to be done, cooking for the holidays to do, and shopping to be done. It’s finally catching up to me seeing as I’m aching worst the past two days than I have been the entire episode. It sucks when sitting at an office chair eventually brings me close to tears because of the bruising. I think my left ankle was twisted pretty good but didn’t realize it until I’ve been on my feet and walking around. It’s probably going to take another month or so before I can get back to my regular routine.
Thanksgiving ended up being a great time. A couple of friends came by for the meal and they loved it! Thank goodness, you never know if people are going to like your cooking. I even tried a new recipe that was a vegan raw substitute for pecan pie and it’s a new favorite. People are asking for the recipe. Later we met up with our friends and a few more at a the club for the rest of the evenings festivities. It wasn’t the way I usually celebrate Thanksgiving but we had a great time spending it with friends. I actually really enjoyed the night and found myself grateful to be spending it with people other than my bedmate and I alone.
Day After Fall at Work
I am mending but I still look as though I’ve been in an accident.
